Karen’s life work has been dedicated to understanding what creates and what relieves suffering. As a healer she provides knowledge, compassion, and intuitive guidance, in a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere. Karen understands healing and loss from a personal and professional perspective. She uses a combination of successful interventions personalized for each unique client. Karen is an Intuitive Healer, Kundalini Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master Teacher and Wholistic Psychotherapist.

A lifelong social worker, Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Central Connecticut State University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut.  Karen is a licensed clinical social worker and a graduate of the four year Spiritual Practitioner Training Program through the Centers for Spiritual Living.


Experience

Karen worked as Director of Volunteer Services  for the Sisters of Mercy at St Mary Home, Managed a shelter for battered women in Torrington, CT,

Karen developed and implemented the first community based programs for the Hebrew Home and Hospital that allowed older adults to remain in their own homes.

She worked at Asian Family Services as a therapist and clinical supervisor for 6 years, experiencing first hand the powerful experience of healing and recovery that is possible  even from the devastating effects of war and genocide.

Continued to experience profound awe at the resiliency of the human spirit, working with severely abused, traumatized children as a therapist at the UConn Health Center. working as  a community based hospice social worker going to patient and family’s homes throughout Connecticut.  A privilege and sacred work.

At the same time, she was working as a contractor with the state of CT Dept of Children and Families, as a trauma specialist and managed a private practice for 5 years.
